We have been asked a number of times to provide a pictorial representation of the meta model to aid understanding of the links between the various elements within it, and we are pleased to announce that this is now available via the Meta Model Page in Documentation – click on the "View Diagrams..." link associated with each layer.

Due to the high number of connections it is not practical to represent this on one diagram, and so we have split the diagrams out to show firstly the links within each layer, i.e. business, information, application and technology , and then the links from each layer to the other layers.  We have colour coded the diagrams so that you can see not only which architecture layer each element is in, but also whether it supports the conceptual, logical or physical view.  We hope these are of use in becoming familiar with and gaining an understanding of the meta model.
